KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogated former bank president and CPI leader N Bhasurangan in the Thiruvananthapuram Kandala Cooperative Bank fraud case. The interrogation was based on the documents found during the raids on the bank and Bhasurangan's house. Bhasurangan is firm in his stand that he had nothing to do with the fraud.
Bhasurangan reached the ED office in Kochi at 11 am yesterday. He had sought treatment for health issues after the ED raided the bank and his residence. ED called him for questioning after he left the hospital.
The ED asked Bhasurangan about his relationship as president with the fraud in the bank, the role of officers and whether he had made any personal gain through the bank fraud.
Bhasurangan told the media that there was no fraud in the bank but an irregularity and that he was innocent. He alleged that there was a conspiracy behind the case. He said that the ED called him to record his statement and not to question him.
