CHENNAI: The police here have registered an FIR against actor Mansoor Ali Khan for making distasteful and derogatory remarks against actress Trisha. The case against him is for sexual harassment and intent to outrage the modesty of a woman. The police action was taken after the National Commission for Women filed a complaint on the matter. The police said that they will send a notice to Mansoor.
In a recent viral interview, Mansoor Ali Khan talked about his disappointment in not having bedroom scenes in 'Leo'. "When I heard that I was acting in Leo with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene with her. I have done such scenes in old movies. But they did not even show Trisha on the shooting sets in Kashmir.", Mansoor said.
Trisha had reacted sharply on the issue by sharing Mansoor Ali Khan's video. The actress took to social media to say that his comments were sexist and misogynistic. "I will never share screen space with Mansoor Ali Khan. His remarks are not just disappointing but reflect a mindset that has no place in our industry." she tweeted.
Singer Chinmayi, actress and member of the National Commission for Women Khushbu and others also came out in support of Trisha.
Despite strong criticism, Mansoor Ali Khan has refused to apologize for the incident. The actor claims that his words have been distorted and misinterpreted. The actor says that his comments were taken out of context and manipulated, likely due to the release of his upcoming film and speculations about his political entry. Mansoor Ali Khan also added that he has not said anything bad about Trisha.
