Sridevi Unni, mother of late actress and dancer Monisha has opened up about her daughter's acting style. She said that if her daughter was alive, she would have been a better dancer than Shobana. Her demise is still affecting her deeply, she said while talking to a YouTube channel.
‘There was always a divine element in her daughter. Monisha always knew what to say to everyone. She replies to everyone with a smile. She had never said anything unpleasant about me in front of others. M T Vasudevan Nair was also a good friend of her. They used to talk on the phone frequently. MT has told my husband that he calls to hear her laughing.
Vineeth, Manoj K Jayan and Rahman are like my own children. Their smile and Monisha’s are the same. I wanted to do many things which I could not do through my daughter. When I was a child, I had told my mother that I wanted to act in films. I made my daughter act when she was 14. My relatives were sad that I made her act in films. I acted in Monisha's film for the first time and she didn't like it.
I saw myself through her. I am also a big fan of my daughter. I lived for her. My son also says the same thing. I still don't know how I survived my daughter's death. I am still alive because of my son's support. She didn’t act in films to make money. It was because of my love for art. Now I live in a fantasy world.
I live in the pain of losing my daughter till this moment. I don't show it to others. My daughter is an artist. A unique artist. If she was alive today, she would have become a greater dancer than Shobana. Many were afraid of her. She liked doing technical things more than acting in films. She wanted to operate the camera. She wanted to become a child psychologist in life,’ said Sridevi Unni.
