CUSAT accident: Minister Bindu, P Rajeev en route to Kochi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ministers R Bindu and P Rajeev are en route to Kochi in the wake of the accident during the Tech Fest at the Cochin University of Science and Technology. The Chief Minister and Ministers are now in Kozhikode as part of the Navakerala Sadas. Kalamasery, where the CUSAT campus is located, is also the constituency of Minister P Rajeev. The ministers informed that their offices have issued necessary instructions to the officials.

The tragedy occurred during Nikita Gandhi's music night organized in connection with Tech Fest. Two boys and two girls died in the stampede. It is reported that they died while being taken to the hospital and around 50 people were injured. They are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

Health Minister Veena George informed that health workers including doctors have reached Kalamasery Medical College and Ernakulam General Hospital. The Minister also said that the Director of the Health Department and the Director of the Medical Education Department have been instructed to make further arrangements. The private hospitals and 108 Kanivu ambulances have been instructed to be prepared.
