KSRTC buses collide in Neyyattinkara; 29 people injured, four people in critical condition

NEYYATTINKARA: 29 passengers were injured after two KSRTC superfast buses collided in Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram. The condition of four of them is critical. The accident took place on the National Highway at Moonnukallinmoodu within the limits of Neyyatinkara Police Station last night around 11.15 pm. The injured were admitted to the Neyyatinkara District General Hospital and a nearby private hospital.

The bus coming from Thiruvananthapuram to Neyyatinkara collided with another KSRTC bus coming from Neyyatinkara to Thiruvananthapuram. The front parts of both buses were completely damaged due to the impact of the collision. The Neyyatinkara police have registered a case.

According to the police, the accident occurred as the driver of one of the buses fell asleep. The condition of the drivers of both the buses is critical. They are undergoing treatment at the Medical College. Rescue efforts were carried out by the Fire Force, the police and the locals.
