KOLLAM: Six hours after six-year-old Abigail Sara Reji was kidnapped in Oyoor, the girl's family received a second phone call demanding more ransom. The kidnappers have now demanded Rs 10 lakhs. The woman who spoke on the phone said that the child was safe with them and would be brought home in Oyoor at ten o'clock on Tuesday morning. The woman asked the family to arrange 10 lakh rupees. She also told them not to report the matter to the police.

Earlier, the girl's mother had received a call from the kidnappers demanding Rs 5 lakh. It is reported that the phone call was made from a business establishment at Kulamada in Parippally. The police are conducting an investigation in this regard. It is reported that the call was made by a man and a woman who came to the shop in an autorickshaw after borrowing the mobile phone of a woman working there. The woman in the shop had no idea what they talked about on the phone. The police are trying to find out if the man and woman who arrived in the autorickshaw were members of the group that kidnapped the child.

It is reported that the group kidnapped the child in a planned manner. The police have launched a state-wide investigation into the incident. Abigail Sara, the daughter of Oyoor native Reji, was kidnapped at around 4.30 pm on Monday.
