'I'm not safe even at my own house, family threatened to kill me'; did not justify Rahul under anyone's compulsion, says woman in Pantheerankavu case

KOCHI: The woman, who was allegedly subjected to torture in the controversial Pantheerankavu case, has made more revelations regarding the case. Earlier, the woman had posted a video on social media dismissing the dowry harassment allegation raised by her against her husband Rahul P Gopal. She also expressed guilt over levelling false allegations against Rahul and his family.

After the police launched an investigation to find her based on a missing complaint lodged by her father, the woman released another video message through her YouTube channel, revealing that she was safe.

In the video, the woman says that she did not justify Rahul under anyone's compulsion. She said that she was unable to release the video from her home and that her family had threatened to kill her. She also said that she was not safe at her house. Although she told her family that she would tell the truth to the police while recording her confidential statement, her father threatened to commit suicide. The woman also said that although she had told the truth to the ACP, the police officer said that no compromise could be made as it was a case in which two police officers got suspended.

"I got scared when I saw my father trying to commit suicide. I told the truth to the lawyer who came home one night. However, she said that it would be difficult to tell the truth. This is why I could not tell the truth even before the magistrate. Even my relatives did not stand by me to tell the truth. Last week, I revealed the truth to the ACP. However, he too refused to help pointing out that two policemen got suspended in connection with the case," the woman said.

The woman raised the allegations against her family in the second video she shared on YouTube. The first video is around 18 minutes long, while the second video is over three and a half minutes long.
