KOTTAYAM: The A group said that the official section met under the leadership of KC Venugopal at the house of Congress Disciplinary Committee Chairman Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. Although Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has come forward stating that he does not belong to any group and denied the allegations, the leaders of A group are planning to file a complaint with the KPCC leadership.

MLA office of Thiruvanchoorn is at Kodimatha, Kottayam. The house is near it. It is alleged that the group met at Thiruvanchoorn's house last Monday evening. However, Thiruvanchoor said that he was at Kumaranalloor Devi Temple with his wife when the meeting was said to have taken place, and asked how could the group meet at home in his absence. 'I know who all are making such allegations... Many leaders come to my house in the centre of Kottayam city. I do not have the habit of talking about matters within the party outside,' Thiruvanchoor explained.

After Oommen Chandy's death in Kottayam, which was the strong suit of Group A, their strength had been drained. With Thiruvanchoor getting close to the official side, Group A is led by KC Joseph. The Thiruvanchoor faction managed to win the Youth Congress elections by shocking Group A. Gauri Shankar, who has been elected as the district president, is from the Thiruvanchoor group. Group A is moving to intensify their attack against Thiruvanchoor.
