THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has included the names of new people to the Senate list of Kerala University. It is alleged that the governor has included people with BJP connections as nominees. The governor has included those preferred by him by correcting the list suggested by the university for the 17 member senate.

Among the 17 people, ABVP and BJP supporters and leaders of pro-BJP teachers' organizations have been included. BJP mouthpiece Janmabhoomi Special Correspondent is also in the Senate as the Governor's nominee. The governor added new names by removing the names suggested by the university.

Meanwhile, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has reacted to the removal of Dr Gopinath Ravindran from the post of VC of Kannur University. The governor said that he, as the chancellor, signed the reappointment order following pressure from the chief minister's office. He criticized the Chief Minister's office in harsh language.

The Governor also said that the Chief Minister directly requested him about the re-appointment when he repeatedly said that the re-appointment was illegal. He added that whether the Chief Minister should resign in the wake of court references is a matter of morality.
