KOLKATA: Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose has come to the rescue of Malayali students and teachers stuck in Kolkata after trains were canceled due to cyclone warning.

A group of 58 social work students and six teachers from Kaladബ and Tirur centers of Sreesankara University were trapped and contacted the Kerala Raj Bhavan. Following this, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan phoned Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose. Ananda Bose intervened and suggested setting up a special bogie in the evening train today, thereby paving a way for the return journey. The governor also invited the group to Kolkata Raj Bhavan. The study tour was led by teachers Anas MK and Reshma Bharadwaj in two batches in the states of Meghalaya, Assam and Bengal.

Ananda Bose recently helped children in Canada when they could not get an emergency visa to attend their mother's posthumous ceremony at Elanji in Kottayam.
