THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the Nava Kerala Sadas, attended by the Chief Minister and other ministers, finished travelling through one-third of the total 140 constituencies in the state, LDF's confidence is increasing for the upcoming parliamentary elections. This is based on people's participation in the Nava Kerala Sadas and the political repercussions that can be caused in the state by the result of assembly elections in three states of North India.
The BJP's advancement in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh is a setback for the opposition alliance INDIA, which is trying to prevent Narendra Modi from coming back to power. The CPM is pointing out that the reason for this setback is the authoritarian attitude of the Congress and its failure in keeping the INDIA front united and keeping the secular vote undivided. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently said that Congress, which was following BJP's extreme Hinduism, was acting like BJP's 'B' team.
In the upcoming days, both the CPM and the LDF will prioritize the argument that the election results gave the message that the Congress cannot stand alone as an alternative to the BJP at the national level. The main objective of the party is to prevent the state's minorities from rallying behind the Congress and Rahul Gandhi as an alternative to the BJP and Modi as in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
