JAIPUR: Just one day after trouncing Congress in Rajasthan, Hawa Mahal BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya is making headlines after he decided to hit the streets demanding the closure of all non-vegetarian stalls.
“ How can you sell this openly on the road? I just want all such stalls to be closed by today evening.” Balmukund was seen talking with a police officer in a heated exchange. In the meanwhile, many meat-selling shops in the nearby premise were closed fearing repercussions from BJP supporters.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and many others in the social media space detested the move and said it was the basic right of people to eat what they want. Some others asked the BJP MLA to not crane his neck into others' kitchens.
Balmukund is one among the four Hindu priests fielded by the BJP in the elections and it paid well as all four won big against congress leaders.
This is from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
