Youth arrested for smuggling gold on KSRTC bus; one and a half crore worth of gold seized in Muthanga

WAYANAD: A man from Koduvally was arrested for trying to smuggle gold on a KSRTC bus. The arrested has been identified as Safeerali TC. He was caught at Muthanga Excise Check Post while travelling to Kozhikode. The Excise team has also seized gold worth around one and a half crore rupees hidden inside the bus.

Safeerali tried to smuggle gold in a KSRTC bus from Karnataka to Kozhikode. It is reported that the accused has been handed over to the GST department for further action.

The gold hidden in liquid form was found during the vehicle inspection conducted at the Muthanga Excise Check Post. Excise Inspector AG Thambi, Preventive Officers Rajesh Komath and Manoj Kumar, Excise Officers Rajeevan KV and Mahesh KM and Women Civil Excise Officers Prasanna and Anitha took part in the inspection.
