DOHA: The GCC Supreme Council has released the decision to allow all Gulf countries to be visited with a single tourist visa. This decision was taken at the 44th session of the Supreme Council held in Doha, Qatar. The meeting has also requested the Home Ministers of various countries to speed up the necessary procedures.
Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed bin Aqil al-Khateeb who said that the cooperation between the GCC countries and the development of tourism in these places will further develop through this decision, praised that this is a historic decision. Ahmed al-Khateeb said that the action will help the Gulf countries to become global tourist centres. It is a decision that will help tourists as well as expatriates in GCC countries to have a comfortable journey.
It will also provide a better opportunity for the Gulf countries to invest in each other. The advantage of this decision is that the economic growth of the countries will be accelerated through tourism. This new tourist visa is modelled after Europe's Schengen visa.
