THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department cautioned about potential rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across Kerala over the next five days. This weather pattern is attributed to a cyclonic circulation prevailing over the South-Eastern Arabian Sea. Anticipating heavy rainfall on December 8th and 9th, isolated heavy downpours are predicted.

Yellow alerts have been issued for specific districts. Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Ernakulam are under a yellow alert for tomorrow, while on the 9th, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts are cautioned. Isolated heavy rain is expected during this period.

The National Oceanic Survey Research Center has highlighted the likelihood of waves reaching heights of 0.6 to 1.5 meters along the Kerala coast until 11:30 pm tomorrow. The Center for Ocean Studies and Research has also noted the possibility of waves between 0.3 to 1.2 meters along the South Tamil Nadu coast until the same time.
