BENGALURU: The CK Nanu faction of the JD(S) on Monday announced that it has expelled party national president HD Deve Gowda from the party. The action was taken in the party's national plenary meeting held on Monday at the CMA hall under the chairmanship of CK Nanu. CK Nanu was chosen as the national president, replacing Gowda. The faction said it would approach the Supreme Court and the Election Commission to claim the party symbol and flag.
The Nanu faction claimed that party office-bearers from 18 states attended the plenary meeting. Three resolutions were presented in the meeting.
The new president has been tasked with appointing national officers and reorganizing the state units. The next step will be to announce the national office bearers. 65 people from Kerala, including CK Nanu, Thakidi Krishnan Nair, Wayanad District Panchayat Member and Welfare Standing Committee Chairman Junaid Kaippani and RS Prabhat, participated in the meeting.
