"You will get five sardines for lunch": YouTuber's jail review video goes viral

PALAKKAD: A YouTuber was caught by the excise on November 6 for making wine and promoting alcohol through YouTube. The said person, Akshaj (21), of Thootha Nechikottu in Cherpulassery, upload videos in his channel 'Nadan Blogger'. He was later remanded after being produced in court.

Now Akshaj has published a prison review video on YouTube after 10 days in jail and it has gone viral on social media. The video describes the case, jail life and daily routine in a jail. Akshaj also talks about the food he got from the jail. He ends his explanation about prison life by saying that no one should go to jail, and that's not what this video is for.

"We have to get up at six in the morning, line up and they will count. You get tea at 6:30 in the morning. As it have to be given to so many people, the quality is passable. At 7 am, it's bathing time. Then we have to go to back to the cell. Breakfast at 8 am, if it is chapatti, you'll get it at 8.30 am. One will get three chapatis, rava upma and green peas curry. If it is Idli, you'll get 5, and sambar will be given as curry. After that you can sleep well," Akshaj said.

"Officials will come at exactly 12 pm, you have go with a plate and have meals. A large mackerel for fish, if sardine, it will be five. Then Thoran and curry. Then we get tea at 2 pm. There is a break at 3 pm, after which you have to enter the cell. Evening food will be served at 4 pm-rice, rasam and pickle. Some days there will be sambar, tapicoa and fish curry. It will be eaten at 7 pm. There are caroms and chess in the prison. After that, we will have to go to bed at 9 pm. The light won't be turned off due to security issues. I never thought I would go to jail. I've said these not because you should go go to jail," he added.

More than two and a half lakh people have subscribed to Akshaj's channel, that has 220 published videos.
