NEW DELHI: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan reiterated that he would again come out of the vehicle to confront SFI workers if the situation demands. The governor also clarified that he will stay on the Calicut campus and not in the guest house when he arrives in the town on Saturday. He was meeting the media in Delhi before leaving for Kozhikode.
“ I am simply not putting up any allegations. You can see from the video how the protesters jumped into my car. I have no protest about the security provided to me. However, just imagine the same protest happening to the CM. Would the police allow anyone to go near his convoy? Not just in Thiruvananthapuram, the SFI workers have also tried to attack me in Kannur.” said Governor.
“Anyways, I am taking up the SFI challenge. Those people are gangsters and I have no peace pact with them. I have no concern about police security either," said the governor.
SFI has already announced that they would not allow the Governor to enter the campus premises. The governor taking up the challenge has decided to stay inside the campus but not in any guest house. The SFI had earlier protested against the Governor in Thiruvananthapuram, accusing him of inducting BJP supporters into the Senate of Thiruvananthapuram and Calicut universities.
And today, Governor Arif Khan will arrive at the same Calicut campus at 6:50 pm. On Sunday, the Governor will attend the wedding ceremony of Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal’s daughter. Then comes the main program, a seminar organized by Bharatiya Vicharakendra and Sanatana Dharma at the university complex at 3:30 pm on Monday. After the event, on Monday night, the governor will return to Thiruvananthapuram.
