Students who protested against governor are not gangsters or criminals; they are promise of future, says CM

KOLLAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the SFIs who protested against the Governor are the promise of the future. It was not gangsters or criminals who protested, said the chief minister while addressing the press meet in the district. He said they are students, promise of the future.

‘They are not thugs or criminals as seen by the governor. None of the other adjectives used by him are fit for them. The students protested are the future promise of our state. Meantime, the chief minister explained about the K Smart Project, the government plans to launch on New Year's Day in the press meet convened today. K-Smart, an integrated software that provides online access to all services provided by local self-government bodies, will be launched in municipalities and corporations from January 1.

This is the first time in the country that all the public services of the local self-government bodies are available online. He added that this can increase the efficiency and transparency of local institutions, eliminate corruption and provide services to citizens quickly.

K-Smart has provided a mechanism to submit complaints online and resolve them and inform the complainant on time. Dash Boards have been set up at the local self-government level, district level and state level to monitor the functioning of the local government system and assess the progress of disposal of applications. The chief minister said that by digitalizing the audit system, the activities of the local self-governing bodies will be constantly monitored.
