Family lives with one-week-old dead body of woman, tells police 'not aware of her death'

HYDERABAD: Police recovered a week-old body of a 45-year-old woman from her house. The deceased has been identified as Muku Radha Kumari, a native of Sathupalli in Khammam district. Her family was living the decomposed body for the past one week. Foul smell erupted from the house and the neighbours informed Jeedimetla police.

When the police arrived at the scene, the house was locked from inside. The police broke open the door and entered the house to find Muku's dead body lying on the bed in the hall. The police have arrested the woman's mother Vijaya Lakshmi and her brother Muku Praveen Kumar from the scene.

The preliminary conclusion of the police is that both of them have mental problems. It seems that the deceased woman had some health problems. Neighbours told the police that the woman was divorced and had been staying with her mother and brother for the past few days. The police told the media that the body has been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem and a detailed investigation will be conducted.
