BENGALURU: A highly-decomposed body of a man was found floating near Shirur on Tuesday. Diving expert Eshwar Malpe confirmed the news and said that the body was found in Aghanashini in Karnataka near Shirur.

The body found in a decomposed state is reported to be that of a man. It is in a 'beyond recognition' state and will require more procedures to identify. A fisherman in the area recently went missing which evoked suspicion in locals while Malpe is not ruling out any chances since the rescue operation for missing driver Arjun is still ongoing in Shirur. Arjun’s family has requested the district administration to conduct a DNA test to confirm the identity of the body.

Arjun's brother's DNA sample was collected earlier. Police have already reached the spot and will examine while Eshwar Malpe told media that he would visit the place to learn more about the incident. There is information that a net is stuck on the leg of the dead body.
