PANAJI: The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party came to the fore accusing Sunburn party in Goa for insulting Lord Shiva and hurting religious sentiments. Both parties demanded to file a case against the festival organizers. It is alleged that the images of Lord Shiva were displayed on the LED screen during the programme which hurt the religious sentiments.

Congress leader Vijay Bhike filed a complaint with the police on Friday. Bhike responded that the aim of the organizers was to hurt religious sentiments. Bhike added that the Lord's image was displayed where people were drinking and doing illegal activities.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Amit Palekar also came forward with the demand that the Goa government should take strict action against the organizers for hurting Sanatana Dharma. Palekar took to Twitter to say that the display of Lord Shiva's image was tantamount to insulting Sanatana Dharma.

The Sunburn Party organized in the state on the occasion of New Year started on December 28 at Vagator in North Goa. Meanwhile, images of Lord Shiva were displayed on the screen. The party ended the other day. The police informed that a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident.
