Sexual assault on women tourists on New Year's morning at Varkala; one arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sexual assault on women tourists on New Year's morning. The incident happened in Varkala. The suspect, who broke into the homestay and grabbed the female tourists, was taken into custody by the police. Akhil, a native of Kollam Valathungal, was taken into custody by the police. The incident took place at Lost Hostel in Varkala Cliff around 5 am today. He entered the rooms on the first floor of the homestay and grabbed the women. Akhil was caught by tourists.

Meanwhile, reports are coming out that a 12-year-old girl from outside the state was taken to the forest and brutally tortured in Munnar. The incident took place three days ago at Munnar Chittiwara Estate.
The victim is a girl from Jharkhand. The accused was taking the child to the forest when no one was at home. The incident came to light when the relatives inquired after the girl felt body pain. Later a complaint was lodged with the police. The girl has also given a statement to the police that she was molested. The search for the accused has started.
