'I'm a hardcore Sanatana follower'; Delhi Lawyer who acquired Dawood's prized Mumbai property

MUMBAI: Since the year 2000, a former Shiv Sena leader has been religiously involved in buying properties of wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Lawyer Ajay Srivastava has now revealed his fascination for Dawood’s properties. He clarified that according to astrology, there was some numerology-linked connection between the survey number of Dawood's place. Along with this, the auction price was also under his limits which helped him go for the place.

Ajay Srivastava revealed his plan of setting up a Sanatan institution in the acquired plot. Ajay is a strong believer in Sanatana Dharma and wants to turn all Dawood's properties he acquired into something that conforms with the tradition.

Four plots were put up for auction but only two were sold. Ajay Srivastava acquired 170.98 square meters of agricultural land in the auction at a cost of more than Rs 2 crores. The plot was originally valued at a modest amount of Rs 15,000 and then travelled up to Rs 2 crore in the final bid. The bungalow was seized in the auction held in 2020. Ajay Srivastava also participated in the auction held in 2001.
