CHENNAI: Big companies like Tata, Reliance, JSW have invested crores in Tamil Nadu. Various companies have announced investments worth crores of rupees at the global investment summit held in Chennai. Tata Electronics has announced a Rs 12.082 crore mobile phone assembly unit in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri. These investment projects can provide employment to 45,500 people.
Pegatron, which supplies accessories to companies including Apple, will invest Rs 10,000 crore. This project can provide employment to 8000 people. JSW Energy will invest Rs 10,000 crore and will provide employment to 6,600 people. JSW considers Tuticorin and Tirunelveli as project area. Hyundai Company has also agreed to invest Rs 6,180 crore for a battery manufacturing plant for EV vehicles.
Automobile manufacturing company TVS has announced an investment of Rs 5,000 crore. Danish shipping and logistics company AP Moller Maersk has also announced that it will set up transport and logistics centers across Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the Global Investment Summit held on January 7 and 8. The DMK government is expecting an investment of Rs 5 lakh crore in the first investment meeting. The aim is to make Tamil Nadu a trillion-dollar economic power by 2023.
