IDUKKI: LDF activists in Idukki on Tuesday protested against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan by waving black flags against him. The incident took place in Thodupuzha in Idukki. The Governor arrived in Thodupuzha to inaugurate the Karunyam Kudumba Suraksha scheme implemented by the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES). A large number of DYFI, SFI and Youth Front M activists had gathered in the region to protest against the Governor.

The activists waved black flags at the Governor at places such as Achankavala, Vengalloor and Shappupadi. The activists were stopped by the police. The police had also blocked the demonstration held by the DYFI activists towards the Merchant Association Hall where the program was being held.

The Governor reached Idukki while the hartal called by the LDF in the district was progressing. Although LDF Idukki district convener KK Sivaraman had said that the LDF activists would not stop the Governor, the SFI had announced that it would wave black flags against the Governor. The SFI activists also raised black banners against the Governor. The LDF is observing a hartal in Idukki district to protest against the Governor for not signing the Land Assignment Amendment Bill.
