NEW DELHI: The Manipur Government has denied permission to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra after Bharat Jodo Yatra. Confusion over the inauguration venue continues as permission is delayed. The response of the Manipur government is that the central government will take a decision only after examining the reports of the security agencies regarding the yatra.
The Congress decided to organize Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Manipur on January 14. State Congress Committee President and MLA Meghachandra and other leaders approached Chief Minister N Biren Singh this morning for the permission of the venue. The chief minister denied permission citing law and order. Meantime, the Congress pointed that the BJP is trying to obstruct the yatra.
Only three days are left for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which Rahul Gandhi will start from Imphal with the message of 'Fight till justice is achieved'. Permission was sought seven days ago for the Palace ground in Imphal. AICC applied to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Chief Secretary of the State Congress. The Congress leaders responded that the BJP is trying to block the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra.
