THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Malayali residing in Mumbai came to help the family of a farmer who committed suicide by handing over the money to pay the bank dues. The person who gave the money stated that it the money can be considered as a wedding gift for Suresh Gopi's daughter. He is also not ready to reveal his name. After knowing the plight of the family, the said person handed over Rs 17600 to the family this morning.

At the same time, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Department ordered to stop the confiscation of deceased KG Prasad's house and five cent property. Yesterday, Kerala Kaumudi had published a news about the confiscation of Prasad's house. Following this, minister K Radhakrishnan directed the officials to settle the loan with maximum concession after talking to the family

Subsequently, district manager MK Bose and his team reached the house. They took the application for exemption from confiscation. The foreclosure notice was sent after Prasad's wife Omana defaulted on a self-employment loan of Rs 17,600 taken from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation on August 27, 2022.

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation district manager said that they will consider Omana's application and submit a report to the Minister and Head Office for decision. Prasad committed suicide after failing to get a loan of Rs 50,000 to buy fertilizer for the leased 3.5 acres of land.
