Trader's murder in Mylapra: Hard disk taken by accused found in Achankovil river

PATHANAMTHITTA: The hard disk of the CCTV system that went missing from the shop of trader George Unnunni—who was killed by a gang during an attempted robbery in Mylapra—has been located by the police. The hard disk, a piece of crucial evidence in the case, was found in the Achankovil River.

So far, the police have arrested four accused in the case. The four accused are Thenkasi native Murugan (42), Madurai native Subramanian (24), Pathanamthitta Valanchuzhy native Harib (30) and Valanchuzhy native Niyas (32). Another accused named Muthukumaran is on the run. The DySP and team have been conducting a search for the hard disk in the river for the past three days.

Mylapra native George Unnunni (73) was found dead on December 30. The accused murdered him to steal the gold chain that he wore. The accused also stole Rs 70,000 from his shop. The stolen gold chain was later found in a jewellery shop in Pathanamthitta.
