Major security breach while transporting currency to Hyderabad; Kozhikode ACP suspended

KOZHIKODE: Appalled by a major security breach while transporting currency, the higher officials suspended Kozhikode District Crime Records Bureau Assistant Commissioner from service with immediate effect. ACP TP Sreejith was suspended from service.

The ACP was in charge of security while the money was being transported to the currency chest in Hyderabad. It was pointed out that the ACP ignored service from an official escort vehicle to provide protection and didn’t carry a pistol which was mandatory while transporting money.
