KOCHI: The spelling mistake on the police vehicle of the SHO at the Panangad station caused embarrassment to the entire force. Instead of 'POLICE', the writing on the window shield of the vehicle read 'POILCE'.

The mistake was discovered by the Congress workers who were returning from a march to the commissioner's office yesterday afternoon in protest against the arrest of Rahul Mamkoottathil. Then the activists gathered around under the leadership of Anwar Sadath MLA, Youth Congress leader Abin Varki etc, and made a mockery out of this.

Panangad SI and his team were traveling in a jeep with an accused in a fraud case when the Congress workers noticed this. The sticker was pasted on the jeep yesterday morning by a printing firm in Poothotta. Even the SI came to know about it when the Congress workers discovered the mistake. After this, the sticker was removed.
