KSRTC invites applications to fill up 600 SWIFT vacancies, names in employment register not being considered

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has invited applications for 600 driver-cum-conductor posts in SWIFT, but those who have registered their names in the employment register for years are not being considered.

Only KSRTC seems to be unaware of this as department heads are giving instructions to get rid of temporary employees and provide jobs through employment exchange. A week ago, the local government department principal director ordered that the temporary employees working in gram panchayats should be dismissed and appointed on the basis of seniority. The governing body decided to end the temporary appointments made directly in various projects in the panchayats and in those where permanent posts were not allotted, but the KSRTC took an exact opposite decision on the same day.

The application for driver cum conductor post is to be submitted online through the website of KSRTC MD. If selected, the cadidate should have heavy driving license and conductor license from the Motor Vehicles Department. Thousands who have obtained heavy license and conductor license are waiting to register their names in the employment exchanges. Last date to apply is January 26.
