Swasika Vijay set to marry co-star; wedding on 26th January

Actress Swasika Vijay is set to tie the knot with actor and model Prem Jacob on January 26 at Thiruvananthapuram. Prem is a native of Thiruvananthapuram and Swasika is originally from Ernakulam Muvattupuzha. Her real name is Pooja Vijay. A wedding party is organised for friends in Kochi on the 27th.

The couple, who previously worked together in the serial ‘Manampole Mangalyam’ gained attention with their viral photo shoot pictures. Swasika made her film debut in 2010 with the Tamil film ‘Vaiga’. ‘Cinema Company’ marked her first Malayalam movie.

Swasika, known for her roles in popular television serials like ‘Dathuputhri’ and ‘Sitha’ has become a favourite among the family audiences. She received the State Film Award for Best Character Actress for her performance in ‘Vasanthi.’ Notable films in her career include ‘Prabhuvinte Makkal,’ ‘Porinju Mariam Jose,’ ‘Chathuram,’ ‘Aarattu,’ ‘Kumari’ and ‘Monster.’ Upcoming films featuring Swasika include ‘Udayol,’ ‘Price of Police,’ ‘Jennifer’ and ‘Vambathi.’
