Actor Mammootty's stoic pose in front of PM Modi goes viral

It was a jamboree-like feel that clouded Guruvayur from early Wednesday morning. Superstars of the Malayalam movie industry lined up near the sacred temple premises to attend the wedding of actor Suresh Gopi’s daughter. But the one who took away the limelight was none other than Indian Prime Minister Modi who arrived at the stage and took all into awe with his traditional Kerala attire and grace.

PM Modi blessed Bhagya Suresh, the bride who was swathed in an elegant Kanchipuram red saree while her groom Shreyas Mohan was also near to seek blessings from PM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi later gifted sacred Akshatham to all bride-grooms who lined up for the wedding at Guruvayur temple. It was thus an enchanting morning for all the people who gathered at the historic temple premises.

After talking with the bridegroom, PM Modi sauntered towards the actors of Malayalam cinema and Suresh Gopi played a nice host and introduced the actors to the prime minister. It was at this moment that something that the camera captured turned into an instant social media hit. Most of the actors while interacting with PM Modi embraced a smile and was bowing in respect and then there was megastar Mammootty.

Mammootty held to a stoic pose while the PM was interacting with actor Mohanlal, and this image has now gone viral and has been turned into a template for many trolls. “ Me at wedding function” was one among the captions that appeared for this particular photo featuring Mammootty.

Many others juxtaposed Mammootty's stagnant pose with that of KT Kurup (Innocent), a drunkard portrayed by late actor Innocent in the movie Midhunam. Amidst this fun, some others tried to tilt this in favour of Mammootty’s antipathy towards PM Modi’s politics but the attempt fell into drain in no time.

In reality, Mammootty was seen elated and was bowing in respect towards PM Modi when the latter approached the actor.PM Modi also gifted the sacred Akshatham to Mammootty. It is learned that PM Modi has great admiration for the actor and has also previously tweeted about Mammootty on his social media page.

Apart from trolls and memes, PM Modi’s visit to Guruvayur was a grandiose event and was more spectacular for the people of Guruvayur who had all prominent actors of Malayalam and the most powerful personality of India just in their backyard.
