KABUL: It is reported that it was not an Indian passenger plane that crashed in Afghanistan. It has been confirmed that the plane crashed after taking off from India, after refuelling. The accident took place in the Topkhana mountains of Afghanistan. The incident occurred in an air ambulance that had departed from Thailand to Moscow, Russia. According to the Union Aviation Ministry, the aircraft had landed at Gaya airport in Bihar for refuelling.

A small aircraft registered in Morocco, DC-10, crashed. It is reported that there were no Indians on board. The first report that came out was that it was an Indian passenger plane that crashed. Soon after, the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Aviation denied this.

After Afghanistan reported that the plane had crashed, Russia had come forward stating that the chartered plane that had departed from India was missing. The Russian Aviation Ministry says it lost contact with a chartered ambulance carrying six passengers in Afghanistan late yesterday evening. It is concluded that it was this plane that crashed.
