TORONTO: It has been alleged that 'Unit 29155', a covert unit of Russia's foreign military intelligence agency GRU, was behind the unknown disease known as Havana Syndrome, which is affecting US military, diplomatic and intelligence officials. This has been mentioned in the report prepared by a documentary team of Canadian media in collaboration with foreign media. However, Russia has responded that the allegation is baseless.
The documentary team had carried out an investigation regarding Havana Syndrome for around 5 years. According to the report, Unit 29155 targeted the brains of victims using sonic weapons. Sonic weapons are capable of injuring or physically harming opponents through extraordinary sound waves.
Recently, the National Institute of Health in the US said that no explanation has been found for the condition called Havana syndrome. Havana syndrome has been confirmed in US embassy officials and CIA officers in various countries such as Cuba, Colombia, Germany and Vietnam. Canadian diplomats abroad are also said to be affected by this mysterious disease.
