Clinic fined for urging women to do plastic surgery to get rich husbands

BEIJING: A clinic that urged women to undergo facial surgery to get rich husbands has been fined. The action by Shanghai Pudong New Area Market Supervision Administration was against Shanghai-based Gene Beauty Biogenetic Engineering Co Ltd. The fine is in tune of Rs 3.5 lakh for the company advertisement that invokes "appearance anxiety".

The company's advertising slogan says, 'Enhance your facial beauty through cosmetic surgery and you will get a rich husband.'

Since 2021, this company has been promoting Reborn Beauty Cosmetic Surgery through its social media platforms. The authorities said the ad was illegal and violated social morals.

Many people have come forward against making women playthings. This company's social media account was banned in December 2023 for repeatedly promoting false values and spreading harmful social values to attract attention and seek personal profit.
