PATNA: Ending days of political drama in Bihar, Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar has resigned. He reached Raj Bhavan and handed over the resignation letter to the Governor. His politics will be now with the NDA. Nitish will take oath as NDA chief minister today itself. The swearing-in will take place at 4 pm today and preparations for this have started at the Raj Bhavan.

After Nitish Kumar joined the NDA, the grand alliance has collapsed in Bihar. The BJP-JDU coalition government is coming to power. BJP National President JP Nadda will attend Nitish's swearing-in ceremony and has returned to Bihar. Meantime, there are indications that 'Operation Tamara' has taken place in Bihar Congress too. Close sources said the leadership cannot contact the nine MLAs.

After the resignation, Nitish Kumar told the media that he has resigned from the post of chief minister and this government has ended. 'I have been getting suggestions from all around. I have quit an earlier alliance for a new tie-up. But the situations were not right. So, I have resigned now. Further steps will be taken in consultation with the parties,’ Nitish Kumar responded. Nitish Kumar targeted the India alliance and said that he has formed an alliance but no one is doing anything in it.
