Modi congratulates Nitish Kumar, resolution to form govt, chance for two Dy CMs

PATNA: The BJP legislature party meeting unanimously passed the resolution to form a new NDA government in Bihar. The move comes after Nitish Kumar resigned as chief minister. The resolution was passed by BJP, JD (U) and other allies. Samrat Chaudhary was elected as the legislative party leader and Vijay Sinha as the deputy leader. It is hinted that both may become deputy chief ministers. BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde informed the media about this.


Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to the Governor along with ministers Vijendra Yadav and Sanjay Jha Sunday morning. It is also indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitish Kumar over the phone.


Now Nitish Kumar's politics will be with the NDA. Nitish will take oath as NDA chief minister today. The swearing-in will take place today at 4 pm. Preparations for this have started at the Raj Bhavan. With Nitish Kumar joining the NDA, the grand alliance has collapsed in Bihar. The BJP-JDU coalition government is coming to power. BJP National President J P Nadda will attend Nitish's swearing-in ceremony.

The RJD has 79 seats, BJP - 78, JDU - 45, Congress - 19, CPI (ML) (L) - 12, HAM (S) -4, CPM - 2, CPI - 2, Independent - 1, Majlis Party – 1.
