PALAKKAD: Immediate action has been taken on the application submitted by a native of Palakkad in the Nava Kerala Sadas mentioning his hardships to buy liquor. The application was submitted by Shibu, a resident of Elappully in Palakkad. His complaint said that even after traveling for kilometres and standing in long queue, it is taking time to get alcohol. Space limitation should be resolved and action should be taken to avoid long queues.
The government soon informed in writing that new counters will be opened immediately in the adjacent shop. He got the reply from Thrissur Regional Office of Beverages Corporation. However, a reply was not obtained so far on the complaint of a transgender belonging to the same panchayat seeking help in constructing a house.
After immediate action was taken on the complaint of an alcoholic, criticisms arose. Some are also asking if this is the only complaint received during Nava Kerala Sadas. In response, the government said that the existing space and number of counters of the shop will be increased and self-help premium facility will be introduced.

Transgender Sreedevi, a resident of Ellapully who sells lottery tickets, also sought help for building a house. However, no reply was received yet. While talking to the media, she said that she has no hope.
