Malayali woman attempts suicide after poisoning children; held in Britain

LONDON: A woman from Kerala was arrested for poisoning her children and then trying to commit suicide. The woman identified as Jilumol George (38) of Hunters Way, Uckfield, a nurse attempted suicide after poisoning her 13 and eight-year-old children. Reports said Jilu injected some chemicals in her children. Her husband is in Kerala.

The children whose condition are critical have been admitted in a hospital. The police arrested and admitted her in the hospital and then produced her in the court. She has been remanded. The incident happened Thursday morning. Though English dailies had carried the news on Friday, the truth of a Malayali behind the incident was known only yesterday.
