KOZHIKODE: K Muraleedharan condemned the incident of many labelling MP N K Premachandran as a Sangh affiliate after the latter attended the impromptu lunch organized by PM Modi. Muraleedharan was speaking at a function in Kozhikode.
“Even if PM Modi calls me tomorrow for lunch, I will go. We won’t support any attempt to label Premachandran as a BJP supporter. MP Premachandran is one of the staunch critics of the saffron party and has proved his mettle in parliament. This time too, we will give seats to RSP. The three-seat dilemma with the Muslim league will be sorted out soon. Throughout the nation, BJP remains the rival party of Congress.” Muraleedahran responded.
At the same time, Premachandran also came out with a response to the criticism. He said that the CPM is trying to portray the banquet hosted by the Prime Minister as a ‘capital crime’.
“This is a cheap accusation. It is normal for CPM to brew up controversy during election time. On that day, I was summoned to the PM’s office. It was only later did I knew that the invitation was for lunch. Those who have excelled in the parliamentary field participated in the banquet. CPM's move to portray this as a capital offence will be rejected by people. I will remain within RSP.” Premachandran said.
