BENGALURU: Karnataka High Court has asked the SFIO not to take immediate action against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena's Exalogic company in the monthly payment case. The High Court adjourned the plea filed by Veena Vijayan seeking cancellation of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) investigation into the transactions related to CMRL. The court directed Exalogic to provide the documents sought by the SFIO. The court gave Exalogic time till February 15 after an extension to produce the documents was sought.
Drastic action should not be taken till the order is given. A bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna asked the SFIO's lawyer whether there were going to be steps including arrest. The lawyer replied that there would be no arrest. SFIO also informed that only notice will be issued for the time being.
SFIO informed the court that digital evidences are also included in the transactions related to CMRL. 1.72 crore was found to have been paid to Exalogic and the company has not provided any service, the lawyer said.
The company filed the petition in the Karnataka High Court because Exalogic is headquartered in Bengaluru. The opposing parties are the SFIO Director and the Central Government. Last day, the officials had inspected the CMRL office in Aluva and the KSIDC under the state government.
