Which companies gave monthly quotas to Veena's company, were they given tax exemption? Opposition Leader asks five questions to CM

KOCHI: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan has raised five questions to the Chief Minister in the monthly quota allegation against Veena Vijayan. Satheesan said that these were the questions that arose in the verdict issued by the Karnataka High Court. He was speaking at the venue of the Samaragni Prakshobhayatra in Kochi.

The questions are:

• Where did the substantial amount of loan taken by Exalogic from Empower India go?
• Were any tax exemptions given to the agencies that gave money to Exalogic Company?
• Several companies had also sent monthly quotas to Exalogic. Can you clarify the names of those companies?
• Why ED did not conduct an investigation into Exalogic company for three years?
• Which are the agencies that are conducting an investigation regarding Exalogic Company?

Last week, the Karnataka High Court rejected the plea filed by Veena Vijayan's Exalogic Company challenging the probe by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) against the company. The bench headed by Justice Nagaprasanna said that SFIO can continue with its probe.

The Registrar of Companies had conducted an investigation under Section 210 of the Companies Act and submitted a report. In its petition, Exalogic Solutions pointed out that it had fully cooperated with the investigation. It also stated that the investigation by the SFIO under Section 212 of the same Act was illegal. Exalogic Solutions filed the petition in the High Court amid reports that the SFIO will interrogate Veena in the monthly quota issue. The company approached the Karnataka High Court because Exalogic is headquartered in Bengaluru.
