PATHANAMTHITTA: Health Minister Veena George said there was no medical malpractice in the death of a forest department employee after being attacked by wild elephant in Wayanad Pulpalli. The minister said that the doctors were instructed to do everything possible to save the life of Paul, who was a temporary employee of the eco-tourism center, who was injured in the attack. Veena George was talking to the media in Pathanamthitta.
The minister informed that the doctors have verbally informed that all treatment has been given and the medical officials have been asked to submit a report on the matter. Last morning Paul was attacked by wild elephant near Kuruva Island. He was first taken to Mananthavadi Medical College Hospital and later to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital but his life could not be saved.
Earlier, Wayanad Medical College had released a press release stating that there was no error in Paul's treatment. The decision to transfer him to Kozhikode Medical College was taken due to the serious lung injury. Meanwhile, the Forest Minister AK Saseendran also informed that the initial report received was that there was no error in Paul's treatment and the government has no hesitation in investigating whether there is any truth in the allegations.
