Retired police officer hacked to death in Idukki; accused is sister's son

IDUKKI: In a shocking incident, a retired police officer was hacked to death by his sister's son. The incident took place in Marayoor in Idukki. The deceased has been identified as Marayoor native Lakshmanan (65). The police said that family dispute was the reason behind the murder.

The incident took place today evening. Lakshmanan retired as a sub-inspector in the Tamil Nadu Police. The body has been shifted to the hospital. The body will be handed over to the relatives tomorrow after post mortem. Police have taken the accused into custody. The police said that he will be produced in court after recording his arrest.
