abduction

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police and the scientific team are inspecting the spot from where the two-year-old girl was found after she went missing from Chakkai. The child was found lying in a drain, 300 meters away from the missing place. The police and dog squad had inspected the place the other day. It is not clear whether any evidence will be obtained from here.

The CCTV visuals of all possible places to reach this area is also being checked. The child, who was sleeping on the side of the road, went missing Monday early morning. The police believe that she was abandoned in this place. It is difficult to abandon the girl after dawn due to the presence of people in the vicinity. No one noticed the unconscious child lying there. The investigation is also being extended to the nomadic team.

Meantime, the CCTV visuals surfaced show a woman walking suspiciously near the spot from where the child was found. The visuals were obtained from a house coming under the Arappura Residents Association. The police said that it is only a suspicion and many visuals are being examined. The visuals show a woman holding a baby wrapped in a cloth in her hand. However, the baby was not there when she returns. The police said that it is still not clear whether it is someone living in the nearby area.
