PULPALLY: Youth Congress workers on Tuesday attempted to stage a black flag protest against the ministers who reached Wayanad for an all-party meeting. The incident took place in Chungam junction. The police removed the Youth Congress workers from the spot using force.

Heavy security has been arranged in the town considering the protests. The BJP had announced the other day that it would block the ministers. The ministers are currently at the Sultan Bathery Municipal Town Hall, where the all-party meeting is about to take place. The meeting will begin shortly. Collector Renu Raj and others have reached the spot. Meanwhile, UDF representatives have boycotted the meeting. Today, the UDF is carrying out a day and night strike criticizing the government interventions.

Congress MLAs T Siddique and IC Balakrishnan said that the UDF is not interested in holding discussions with the ministers who do not understand the sentiments of the people of Wayanad.

"We are not interested in holding discussions with the minister who did not bother to visit the houses of the victims of wild animal attacks. No discussion is relevant anymore. Decisions matter. The Chief Minister should come directly to Wayanad. Minister AK Saseendran should be removed from the charge of the Wayanad district," they said.
