28-year-old youth dies during ‘smile designing surgery’ days before marriage

HYDERABAD: A youth subjected to smile designing surgery had died in Hyderabad. The youth identified as Laxmi Narayana Vinjam of Hyder Nagar near Kukatpally died while he was subjected to the smile designing surgery to enhance his smile ahead of his wedding. The incident took place just days before his wedding.

Businessman Laxmi Narayana underwent the surgery on February 16 at FMS International Dental Clinic in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. His father Vinjam Ramulu alleged that overdose of anesthesia was the reason for his son’s death. He said that his son fainted during the surgery.

Laxmi Narayana reached the hospital alone for the surgery. Ramulu said that when he contacted his son's phone in the evening, the hospital staff picked up the phone and informed him that his son fainted during the operation. The youth was then taken to a nearby hospital, but the authorities declared him dead.

Ramulu said that his son was perfectly healthy until he left home. Ramulu alleged that there were no other health problems and the negligence of the hospital authorities was the reason for the death. The police have registered a case and have started an investigation.
