THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The railway Board has extended the service of Vande Bharat Express to Mangalore. Vande Bharat which operates from Thiruvananthapuram via Alappuzha to Kasargod, has now been extended to Mangalore. However, it is not clear when the service to Mangalore will start.
The order stated that this will be implemented at the most appropriate time. Vande Bharat that departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 4.05 pm will reach Mangalore at 12.40 am. It will depart from Mangalore at 6.15 am. 20631/20632 service has now been changed. The timings have been adjusted in such a way that the service will start 45 minutes earlier from Mangalore without changing the present timing. The train will leave from Mangalore at 6.15 am

The train arrives at Ernakulam station three minutes before departure. It will arrive two minutes earlier in all other stations. The second Vande Bharat service started in Kerala on September 24 and was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first Vande Bharat was blue in colour and the second one orange in colour. The service of this Vande Bharat has now been extended to Mangalore.
The first Vande Bharat service started in the state in April. It also has the specialty of having Vande Bharat services from the south-northern parts of the state in the morning and evening. The first Vande Bharat operates service from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod at 5.20 am.
